SOIL TESTS
Be sure to run soil tests before spending too much on unneeded fertilizer. Substantially higher fertilizer prices will mean paying closer attention to production costs this spring.
The most important factor affecting growers this year is the increase in fertilizer prices. Soil tests help identify deficient nutrients and establish rates that will give producers the best chance for higher yields. Purchasing custom fertilizer blends will also provide a needed edge in reducing costs. Custom blends target your nutrient needs, so you apply no more or no less than your soil needs.
